Software Metrics Database
Functions
The Software Metrics Database is a full-featured database written in Microsoft Access for use in tracking software metrics information. It provides a means to collect development statistics in real-time, permitting managers to review status that is up-to-the-minute at their desktops. Full support for an extensive set of software metrics is provided, including tracking of project information, Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCIs), software components, software changes and trouble reports, and formal inspections. A list of more than 200 commonly collected development activities is provided for tracking purposes and is infinitely customizable by the local system administrator. User interfaces are available for Microsoft Windows and the World Wide Web. The Software Metrics Database is based upon the one used at Goddard Space Flight Center, Software Engineering Laboratory.
